Don’t miss out if you’ve already missed the Guangzhou lighting fair

Lead: If you missed the Guangzhou international lighting fair, then you should not miss this. The 2018 Guangzhou international lighting fair has now come to an end, so let’s look at popular product applications and the trends for the lighting industry.

Full spectrum technology blossomed everywhere

That was the trend for this year’s show, which was the most mainstream it has ever been. Full spectrum technology from concept to practice in just two years. Currently, the full spectrum of products has achieved blowout growth. Here are a few typical brand booths:

At present, the principle of full-spectrum technology can be roughly divided into two categories. One is the use of violet excitation, and the other is the use of blue excitation. The former is theoretically healthier, just as four years ago Mr. Nakamura said, “White LEDs using blue LEDs will disappear sooner or later.” It is the purple that encourages the violet excitation to protect human health.

The high-density narrow beam is hot

The high-density, narrow-beam COB offers designers more design possibilities. After HonourTek launched the 3MM COB in the first half of this year, the products exhibited by major manufacturers are getting smaller and smaller. The competition for high-density narrow beam products is also quite fierce.

CREE: 3.6° Spotlight

In the CREE booth, there was a very narrow 3.6° ultra-narrow beam spotlight. It was a joint display product of CREE and its partners. Their light source and lens are perfectly matched to present the ultimate optical effect.

Bridgelux: 4mm narrow beam COB

Bridgelux this year introduced a 4mm narrow beam COB, high density, small size, circular light emitting surface, Ra>90, which perfectly solves the application of exhibition lighting.

Practical application scenario

Variety  wall washer plan

Although the application of wall washer lighting is not new, it is by no means simple to illuminate the wall surface uniformly, and the rapid development of LED technology poses new challenges to the application of wall-washer lighting and the ways to wash the wall. In this exhibition, we also saw some companies that dazzled us with their wall-washer lighting.

LiteMatrix: Scene wall-washer application

In a rectangular exhibition hall at LiteMatrix, various wall-washing lighting fixtures were available in a variety of wall-washing applications, the display effect was shocking.

KAMS: One Wall, four wall washer plans

In this Exhibition, KAMS presented to the public a complete wall-washing plan, a collection of a variety of wall-washing methods, recessed, track, and linear wall washers. It provided four sets of wall washer solutions for one wall, to meet customers’ different needs.

Magnetic lighting is very popular

Since the B light company introduced low-voltage electromagnetic track fixtures, its flexible space collocation and economic installation methods have been widely recognized by the market. At this exhibition, we saw that, regardless of brands such as Feelux,LiteMatrix, or some small and medium-sized exhibitors, they exhibited their own magnetic track lights.

In conclusion

In general, this year’s Guangzhou lighting Exhibition has not shown much technological innovation. Many manufacturers are still improving their product lines and the core technological advantages. We have not seen dazzling products in the development of new technologies and application breakthroughs. In addition, Signify, GE, Osram, and other major lighting companies did not participate in the show, as if they felt it was lacking something.
